Since 1996 he has held an artistic, academic post in the department of film and television at the KHM, Cologne. Egon Bunne became interested in socially critical and political themes at an early date. Later, his documentary starting material is processed by a modulation of the true image. His editing patterns are programmed and devised like compositions. He is fascinated by the phenomenon of time and by the possibility of shaping or structuring time by means of electronic editing. The video ALLES WANDELT SICH (1990) is one of Bunne's most important works. It was made after the fall of the Berlin wall. Historical, pictorial material is confronted by up-to-date, political images and facts referring to the events of the day, and collage and montage are employed so that past and direct present appear to belong together. As if in a kaleidoscope, he re-links his images to form new constellations on the basis of the poem "Alles wandelt sich" by Bert Brecht. In 1990/91 he received the Egon-Erwin-Kisch-Prize of the international Leipzig film week for this tape. (Video-Forum, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein 2001)
