- Art Jones received his BFA degree from the State University of New York in Purchase. Jones is an artist and filmmaker by training and digital manipulator by choice. Feeling like the representations of and the methods of said representation of African-Americans were insufficient, Jones began making videotapes that rivaled the prevailing perspectives. His films, tapes, CD-ROM's and live video-mixes combine audio/visual samples from dozens of media sources with original material to create time-based collages.
